General Questions

What is the return policy?

Once your shipping label has been created, your order cannot be changed or cancelled. 

We will accept returnsup to 14 days after the delivery of your item. Once our team accepts your return, customers will be charged a return shipping fee.

*Blind dates with a book, scratch & dent books, and themed boxes are non returnable and non exchangeable.*

Candles, unless broken upon arrival, are non returnable/unchangeable.

All returns and exchanges must have clear photo proof of all damaged or defective areas sent to hello@thefatedchapterbookstore.com and will be subject to qualification by our team for return/exchange. 

Refunds/exchanges will be processed once we receive the damage or defective product. 

How quickly will I hear back after emailing?

Our response time is 2 - 3 business days. Holiday response time is 3 - 5 days.

What are your hours?

Our bookish team is in office, unless on holidays

Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 6PM (Pacific Time)

What are your book replacement qualifications?

Books that do not qualify for return/exchange: 

  • Minor dings/scratches that do not affect the ability to read and/or display 
  • Normal shelf wear 
  • Sticky residue that can be removed
  • Slight waving of the pages

Books that do qualify for return/exchange: 

  • Rips and dings that affect reading and/or displaying 
  • Strong odor
  • Severe water damage

**Misprints are eligible for replacement, or in store credit.**

I don't see the book I want. What do I do?

As much as we would love to carry MANY romance books, we are only able to keep a few at a time with our current storage.

But don't fret! We have a book form that you can fill out where we can see what readers like you want next when we order more books. CLICK HERE to go to our form.

Shipping

When will I get my order?

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.

Can I do local pickup?

We offer FREE Local pick up Monday - Thursday, 10AM - 6PM and Friday 11AM - 6PM. All pick ups will be ready within 24 hrs *excluding weekends and Holidays*. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready with the provided bin number.

Please contact us if you need to schedule a pick up time outside of scheduled hours at: hello@thefatedchapterbookstore.com 

If you do not pick up your items within a week since the order has been fulfilled, your order will be canceled and a refund will be issued.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately at this time, we do not plan to ship internationally. We are a very small business and right now we are only comfortable shipping USA only.

My package is lost or stolen, what do I do?

We understand the heartache of ordering something only for it to get lost along the way or stolen.

If your tracking shows your package as "delivered", please double check your front porch or mailbox, as well as asking your neighbors if the package was mistakenly delivered at their residence. If your tracking shows as "delivered" and there is no evidence of your package, you may contact us after 7 days of the occurrence. Sometimes packages can get scanned too early before they are actually delivered. Contact us with your full name, order number, and shipping address. After investigating tracking, we will make a decision on whether or not we will replace your item.

We will only replace items twice. If it happens more than that, unfortunately we will be unable to send anymore replacements or a refund, and you may be blocked from purchasing through us again.

When will you get new items?

We will let you know when we drop more books and bookish items in our store on our social media and newsletter. Be sure to be on the look out for our posts!

Do you sell indie books?

Yes! We are proud to work with indie authors. In fact, one member in our team is an author herself and her books are available to buy from our store as well! Click HERE to shop her books!

Do you do pre-orders?

Currently, we do not offer pre-orders. Any new released book will become available to buy from our store the day of its release.

Do your Gift Cards expire?

No, our gift cards do not expire.
